Zumo.

Your photos, much lighter.

A batch image optimiser that runs in the browser. It compresses and converts photos, including those from an iPhone, without uploading them to any server.

  • Batches in a ZIPHundreds of photos at once; the download keeps your folders.
  • Nothing leaves your deviceEverything is processed in your browser. Not a single image is uploaded.
  • iPhone photosOpens HEIC, TIFF, PNG or JPG and saves them as JPEG, WebP or AVIF.

The problem

Reducing the size of many photos usually means uploading them to an external service or handling them one by one. And iPhone photos in HEIC don't always open.

The solution

A website that processes whole batches, even a ZIP with folders, inside the browser, with a before-and-after comparison, and downloads everything at once. It also works offline.

Key decision

Nothing leaves your device: compression runs locally with WebAssembly. Zumo is based on Squoosh, from Google Chrome Labs, and adds batch processing, HEIC support and a new interface in Spanish and English.
